The Roland tabulature application file ends with .JAR. This means it is a JAVA application.

Install JAVA to your computer (https://www.java.com/en/download/win10.jsp), and then associate any *.JAR files to be opened with JAVA and you should be good to go.

Did you do the bolded part?  If you do... then... anytime you double click on a JAR file, it opens it up with JAVA.  Smile

What was the process you used to choose JAVA to be the default app for .JAR files?

That's not what I asked. I was asking what steps did you take to try to make it run... your answer should have been something like this Smile :

Two major steps to do:

1. Find and note the location where your .JAR file is.
- this should be easy, its the directory where you installed you application to on your hard drive.

2. Find and note the location where your Java executable is. (basically, where is JAVA.EXE located)
- On my 64-bit WIN10 system I use the 32-bit version of Java, it is located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The process:
1. Right click the .JAR file
2. Select "OPEN WITH"
3. Select "CHOOSE ANOTHER APP"
4. Click "MORE APPS"
5 Scroll down to the bottom
6. Click on "Look for another app on this PC"
7. In the file name area enter "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\java.exe"  (WITHOUT QUOTES AND ONLY IF THIS IS WHERE YOU INSTALLED JAVA TO!)
8. Click OPEN
9. You are done.  Double click your .JAR application and it will work (as long as you used the right file location for JAVA .EXE).

The entire process should take you less than 20 seconds and if this doesn't work, there are only 3 possible answers:
- Jar file is corrupt
- Java isn't installed
- Wrong path to Java.exe was used

Hope this helps.

Because you somehow associated 7zip as a default program to open .jar files  Cool
