Hi accordionists. There’s what looks to be a higher end instrument at a music store near me. I don’t recognize the brand and don’t see “Castelfidardo Cassotto V” anywhere on the internet. Is this a known brand? Is there any way to get some more info on this instrument?

Thanks!

That accordion appears to be a Giustozzi, a smaller accordion "factory" in Castelfidardo.
There are more accordion makers in Castelfidardo that put the name of the town on their accordions.

Thank you! Much appreciated! Very few higher end accordions in the used market in the northeast US and this is right by me so gonna check it out.

you might want to look harder.. you are in the very center of the
mid-atlantic high end accordion area and there are plenty of driving distance
and marketplace used options nearby.. Falcetti in Springfield
for ex. and Music Magic less than 4 hours away, not to mention
New York City

for your $5 Grand you can get a lot of attention from these places
for brand new boxes

Giustozzi would be my guess as well
In the link some pictures, different colour but some similarities too. Plus a bit of history on Giustozzi.

Thanks! For four reed double tone chamber, looks to me like new instruments start at around $8k. I’ve done Craigslist and reverb.com searches of the northeast US with a minimum price of $3k and there’s not a lot. A new instrument isn’t out of the question, but if I can buy used in great condition for significantly less money, I’ll do that.
