Hello, Would you like to enter an accordion composition competition without leaving home? You choose the winner with a voting system published in the web. Subscription: 10 euros or equivalent in dollars. 3 prizes, one in cash.

All you have to do is to submit the audio file mp3 of your own accordion composition. Plagiarism is not allowed.
The style is free. Many countries involved. Last day to send your audio file: September 30th 2017

Important to read the Guidelines here: http://www.concursodecomposicionparaacordeonfidelio.com/

You made this proposal before and you were not really welcomed very positively.
I don't know what makes you think it is going to be any different this time.

Shall we go over the process one more time???

I really dont know why I am treated this way when I create a competiton an offer a first prize of 400 euros.... apart from spending hours in creating a competition with excitement to allow musicians to spread their compositions. Its incredible!! your rude answer.

Your unmitigated greed is incredible! You are not even an accordionist!
If you need reminding, please go back and read your original thread (you only post here to advertise, nothing else!). If you need a link, ask I will be happy to provide it to our last conversation, but with only 5 posts, I dont think it will be too hard for you to find. In the meantime, please consider the fact that you are polluting the board and that is NOT appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry to say, but considering that this is an Internet discussion board and the replies you received up to this point we have been very polite in trying to tell you that this competition is a bad idea and that advertising it here is an even worse idea. It seems that no matter how we phrase that opinion you are simply bound to find our replies rude, but really they are not, especially compared to other things that occasionally happen on this and other boards.

There are competitions for either composition or for performance, judged by highly trained professional accordion teachers, composers and performers, and presenting our work to a jury of such professionals may be worthwhile. I do participate for instance in the World Music Festival (in Innsbruck every three years) with an orchestra I play in. That is a wonderful experience. The proposed on-line competition is just... not all that inspiring and even though we are talking about small amounts of money it has a commercial ring to it that we just find uneasy. So what we are trying to say is to please not propose this competition here again.

Maybe, just maybe, after years of valuable contributions to this board and discussing it with long term members there is a chance that we might reach consensus that setting up a similar competition, for fun and not money, is an inspiring and worthwhile community activity. That would be very different from a non-accordionist barging in here (now for the second time) and proposing us to pay money to participate in an on-line competition that does not have its origins in the accordion community and that essentially serves no purpose other than getting people to fork over some money and submit their work which will then not be judged by professionals but by the wisdom of the crowd.

Im really trying not to be rude, but still say that sorry but this community has no interest in this competition and would appreciate it if it were not brought up here again. If others disagree with me, please let them respond to tell me Im not representing the opinion of the community here properly. (After all, I did not formally consult with our community to voice this opinion.)

Antonio,

In your first post to this forum, the deadline was August 18th. Did you change the deadline, or is this a new contest entirely? (And, if so, who won the first one?)

Gracias,

- Jeff

I have only just noticed this thread.

If no-one else is entering this competition, that means that I could win it by default. What about that???? I could be a champion accordionist !!! What next? The Royal Albert Hall, perhaps.

Don't worry, I am only messing about. I have no intention of lining someone else's pocket. My parents didn't raise any idiots.

I to have no wish to be rude so suffice it to say that as far as I am concerned the second word is ''off''!!

George.

Dear Jeff, I have extended the deadline till September the 30th due to little submissions received, I hope to arrive with enough in time to celebrate it. If not, everyone will have their money back. It never happened before with the other competitions I organize for guitar and piano which are very successful, you can listen to all the works of past winners through the same website. At the moment there are 17 works from Argentina, Spain, Denmark, China, Poland, Israel and England. The competition needs a few more, up to 40 so that the prize in cash can be given to the winner. But due to the bad comments I am receiving in this forum, I am afraid I will have to refund the money and never again organize an Accordion Competition in case I do not reach enough competitors, but Lets see what happens. Its incredible, I am just trying to help everybody who plays accordion giving money in prize and there is someone trying to spoil my hours of working. Just as well that some people believe in this project and enjoy taking part.

I think this project received a bit to much hostility. There are many rip offs in the world (I have een ripped off by The extreme tour but it was my own fault in a way), but this is not an enormous amount of investment. If you look at the other competitions he organized it seems legit. I think Antonio is right, it is not bad to put some profit into your pocket after putting alot of effort into a project. But what I think mostly, this is a way to bring accordion back to life! Joining into an online competition would put the accordion also more in the spotlights. But these reactions scare peope off to try something like a competition or whatever with the accordion in the spotlight. So I would consider joining in if I can find the time to put myself to recording :)

the wisdom of the crowd is wrong. In this competition only the entrants can vote. As far as I know the composers and musicians have good opinion on music , but sorry to bother you , definitely you try to spoil this amateur project.

In the past there just have been too many accordion competitions that were organized mostly for the financial gain of the organizers and for the remaining part for the glory and financial gain of the professional judges that were hired.
The accordion association in the Netherlands is trying to organize some competitions that are clearly not for financial gain. The organization in Belgium does not even dare to try it. They do organize exams (either for free or for a very low fee) to classify musicians and groups into categories, without it being a competition.
We have become really allergic to the concept of competitions. It is absolutely not your doing! I at least am not against *you*. I am against the *concept of this competition*.
