Hi to everyone on the Forum - what a fantastic resource this is. I have recently become Squire of Aelfgythe Border Morris, and we urgently need an accordion player to complement our band. All our dancers are female and our musicians can be either male or female. We meet in the village of Alvechurch, Worcestershire, which is just 5 minutes from junction 2 of the M42 motorway each Wednesday for our practices, and we regularly dance out at local events as well as festivals and gatherings further afield. This year we will be going to Upton Folk Festival and the Isle of Wight as well as holding our own Wassail in February. We have a melodeon, concertina, fiddle, mandolin and bouzooki in the band, and I would like to develop the band to produce a good strong sound as well as being able to cover more events. We do try to get the music and dancing as good as it can be, and we also aim to have fun and to enjoy our time together. We use mainly traditional Morris tunes as well as some music that has been written by members of the side.
