Hi Everyone,
Provoices newbie here. Anyone know of an accordion stand that can be used to play in a seated position? My 82 year old neighbor has a bad back and even in a seated position he has a hard time with the weight of his LoDuca accordion.
Any help would be awesome!
David

They are definitely out there: you occasionally see them being used on YouTube clips 🙂
Here's one from the web:
Here's another example (in Jim Laabs Music Store Milwaukee. Near you?🤔)

Wow!. At that price I'm not surprised they don't keep them in stock.
I had one that came with my Paulo Soprani Super when I bought it from a man who played with an Irish band.
I gave it away.

That Konig and Meyers is really nice, but better for standing. It doesn't go super low, so check out any stand you look at for how far off the ground you need to get. I got one at Liberty Bellows in PA.

I wonder if a simple support to take the weight while holding the instrument would be sufficient or is the need for a free-standing support to clamp and grip the accordion?

If the former it might be easy to make something sturdy but simple from wood or metal. Although not for an accordion, I’ve built several adjustable supports including one welded up from steel. Pretty simple unless it needs to fold up for transport.
