Air release valve stuck

Hello,

After some years in the box, a student of mine decided to start playing again. However, after a few minutes of playing with the accordion, the air release valve button just got stuck inside the box. It was a pain to put it back up but we managed. After some more playing, it went back inside again!
I think that the spring is too loose and the fact that the button is on an angle doesnt help at all.

Did somebody else have this problem? Do you know how to fix it?

With care you can bend it so it is straight and sticks out further so that when you press it it doesn't go all the way in. If it still does, you may try to create a "tube" on the inside (from plastic) so that it cannot get stuck under the base plate but stays inside the tube.
