[Edited: I hit post accidentally.]

Saw this interesting old one-row on auction (already sold). It claims to be from the American Civil War. Out of curiosity Im wondering if we can check the dating.

As near as I can tell its labeled:

Richter, Professional Accordion (blurry photo)

Duplex, Extra Broad

Melodion, Bronze Reeds

Thats Melodion with an i. For an amusing introductory discussion of Melodeons vs. Accordions etc:
https://thesession.org/discussions/24031 (I like the idea of a diachronic accordion.)

Auctioneer says its German-made.

Anyone know more about Richter accordions?

Would this be the same Richter as the Richter Tuning of diatonic instruments (harmonicas/accordions?)
