I have been a fan of accordionist Netta Skog for a while, primarily due to her role in Turisas, a Finnish viking-metal band. Shes no longer playing with Turisas, and it seems shes up to some pretty interesting stuff...

What do you think? Im not sure myself!

Cool. I think it's brilliant what the instrument can do. The music is a bit 'up and down" for me as some bits I can really appreciate and others are a bit contrived but hey, it's live music and that's great.
I'd love a Roland accordion but they are a bit pricey and you need amps etc. to go with it. Perhaps in my next life or if some fool sells one off cheep on ebay.

Hi Glenn; An amplifier is not needed for the Roland models FR- 1x, 1xb, 3, 3b, 3x, 3xb, 7, 7b, 7x, 7xb and the new 8x They have self contained built in sound systems. JIM D.

May I say ...freely and without fear of being folked........Roland V Accordions are F'ing Fantastic and I would love one ....this is not my fave piece (excellently played though it is ....and a very nice looking stool centre stage) but it does demonstrate the ability and versatility of the instrument........oh excuse me ....Final Countdown is just being played .....back in a mo'........I want one..........now which organ to sell....

Maybe this should move over the midi/electronics posting but as electronic music instruments are imoroving at such a fast pace, are the older Roland accordions worth having?

This thread just cost me $15+tax...(the cost of the Turisas DVD from Amazon.com)
