Curious to know if anyone uses one.

Their line has been expanded over the years, to include all types of squeezeboxes, including some Dallapé models, since they also own this maker.

There are many people on this site who have one, and some have it along with their acoustic. I don't have one, though I'm thinking about it in the near future. We've had some discussions on this site regarding the Roland's future as Roland has indicated it will not be making them in Italy anymore. Recently, though, there has been some discussion of another company making them for Roland using the same Italian factory. There are some very knowledgeable people on this site who understand the V-accordion and follow the future models that may be coming. Though some people don't like the V-accordion, it provides a variety of music unattainable in a traditional accordion and it doesn't have the maintenance of a regular accordion. I think if you search for Roland on this site, you'll see many articles regarding the V-accordion. By the way, Toronto is a nice city, though I must say Vancouver and Quebec City are beautiful too. Welcome to the site.

If you care to visit the posts in Digital & Midi accordions you will find most of us. The Dallape firm is now closed forever and it's up in the air who will buy the name. Roland offered a limited model of their FR-8x with sampled Dallape sounds and unique markings but they do not own the name.

Hi there François and welcome to the forum. I have an Fr-3s, and I love it; see my comments o the digital thread. Are you thinking of getting one? I have two accoustic pa's also. I love them and I think they all have their place in an accordionists life. I can play the Fr-3s in the middle of the night, and if my arm gets sore I can lock the bellows. I can also plug it into a music arranger and have my own band at home. You can't argue with those benefits.

I don't get into the spurious argument about which is better, electric or accoustic, because they are both beautiful instruments. At one time I had both an accoustic piano and a Roland electric piano, and I loved both of them as well.

I live in beautiful Vancouver, it's Spring here with cherry blossom lined avenues in full bloom. I love it here. I came from London, England in 1965 after living and working around the world for a couple of years, and have never looked back.

Enjoy the forum François, it's friendly and one of the best.

By the way François, have you been into Accordions Canada there? I'd love to spend a day there with an unlimited budget!!!

I bought as second-hand diatonic box at Accordions Canada a few years ago, they have lots of instruments in stock but mostly PAs.
Its not as big a place as it looks in the pictures!
