Same guy Terry. He was born in Valenciennes in 1961, but his family are Sicilian, and he regularly goes and plays there. He is able to play many different styles and has been a teacher for many years. He tends to only play on Crosio accordions, and the one he plays Ipanema on is a little Italian spec 80 bass Crosio, that looks as though it is only 2 voice, with register switches on the front. I have two cats the same colour as his but that's where the similarity ends I'm afraid. On the You Tube track with the still photo of the balcony table and wine glasses with Eiffel Tower in the background is way flat and I couldn't follow it. The chord progression isn't that straightforward (for me),and I'd need to get the sheet music for it. I've tried, but no joy. I'd love to be able to play that one right through.
Tried more experiments with my laptop, but the further I get away from the mike the sound quality goes. If I never had the habit of making strange noises from my throat when playing I'd get away with it. Maybe I should have become a ventriloquist! Ipanema is another favourite of mine, but there is a part where you need to get 4 chords in a chromatic progression (sorry can't do music speak), and up until now I've not bothered to work it out. Some day I'll get the guitar out and work it out from there, but I doubt whether I'd ever manage the basses. You can "cheat" a bit with the 7dim row (I have that on all my boxes except one), but I am a confirmed "oompah" merchant. I can hit jazz type chords on the bass side but I have no real idea what I'm doing.
