I will be interested in your review and ranking compared to the other method books you have.

This book is more a book about chromatic button accordion technique, it's not a method aimed for starters learning to play the CBA.
So it is not an accordion method like the Cambieri-Melocchi-Fugazza method which is more exercise based.

This is a booklet with information for composers who want to write and compose for accordion and free bass accordion.
Because there is almost no English information on the CBA, all books in English on the CBA are welcome.

Some websites have a copy of the content of the book. I have seen it last year in a Paris music shop, but can not give you a detailed review.
This message is just pointing out the existence of this booklet.

The Hohner company in Germany gave me a book tip:
Maik Hester: Akkordeon begreifen

But I think it is only available in German.

Its on my list for Santa...

If I know of some newly released CBA accordion tutor with lots of exercices based on celtic music and irish trad music, Scottish, English, USA folk music, Ill post a message here.
I think this is the music most UK and US players want to learn.

The Friedrich Lips book The Art of Bayan playing (B-system CBA in Russia) has been available in English for a long time, but is not a book aimed at practical exercise. Still a great book to have. I have the German version Die Kunst des Bajanspiels.

Stephen, I just read the synopsis for the Maik Hester book, and it appears to be about technology rather than technique, i.e. explaining accordion construction, and the physics of playing and hearing rather than giving any kind of instruction. At least that's what I could make out from the rather pretentiously worded review...

Yes, the Maik Hester book is on accordion construction, technology, free bass, other types, and the consequences on playing technique.
More technology and construction oriented, but technology and construction can influence future composition styles and playing techniques of the instrument.

The evolution of technology and construction in harpsichord/virginal/... -> Tangentenflügel -> Hammerklavier/hammered pianoforte -> the modern 19th century piano construction with solid steel frames and keyboard action, led to changes in music composition and playing techniques for the piano.
Compare it to the standard bass and the more open harmonic free style of the free bass.

The Buchmann and Hester books are aimed at contemporary music composition, but also at a larger public interested in accordions.
