CBA - different size white, black buttons?

Take a look at https://www.accordiongallery.com/borsini-c-chromatic.htm, especially the fifth image (https://www.accordiongallery.com/borsini-c-chromatic-05.jpg). The white buttons seem much larger than the black ones. Is this just an optical illusion, or real? And if real, can anyone speak to whether it's a feature or a defect?

It is hardly likely that the buttons would be of different sizes especailly as that would make for strange sensations for the player.

Manufacture would be somewhat at odds with efficient production, too. ;)

Optical illusion for sure, I reckon.

It is not an optical illusion as much as bad photography. The white buttons have the exposure blown out so that the curvature of the button dissolves into one flat white area. Without being able to separate the side from the top visually, the result looks larger than with the clearly discernible black buttons.

Clincher? >> Would it be possible to make rows using circles of different diameter?
Yes. The spacing between the black buttons appears to be larger than between the white buttons. Imagine them as different size tops screwed onto uniformly-spaced holes.

However, (with no CBA experience to base this on!) I tend to think dak is right - the white keys are just blown out.

Ed S, you are absolutely right - just goes to show: the fact that I think something is obvious does not make it so!
