I have a 1" crack in the celluloid of my 1957 Hohner. I intend to repair it using acetone but I notice that when I press down on one side of the crack I see it moving down slightly to the wood. Will the acetone running into the crack also act as a glue. I'm reluctant to use super glue before applying the acetone.

The acetone will make the celluloid very “mushy” and it will stick down without any glue. Maybe try to get some under the piece that is loose snd keep going over it so it’s smooth and down. Let it sit for a day and check it.
