Hello! Im The Happy Wanderer. Ive played diatonic accordions (melodeon), and I have recently decided to also take up the PA too.

I just got a used Cingolani. Supposedly these accordions were lower-mid range accordions imported to the US from Italy in the 1960s. Mine is probably from the early 60s. Supposedly they were also sold around the Chicago area.

Ive been enjoying this accordion since I got it yesterday. I love how it looks. If it ever broke, I would probably get it restored. :D

Does anyone else here have one of these? Do you have any more info about these accordions?

Yes it's an Italian import but late 40's to early 50's. Any pic's of the interior ??

Thanks! :)

I didnt know it was that old! Im surprised it still works after all these years.

It appears that someone replaced the treble reeds at one point, as they all have plastic/paper valves.

I opened the box up to see if there was any mold growth inside the bellows, and I took some pictures. There is no musty smell inside the box. There is, however, a slight crack on the treble side. Would glue fix that?

Some photos (two uploads, as the website was giving me errors.)

Don't worry about the age of this one,as it looks well made & well maintained. As for your crack - force some white glue (Elmer's) into the crack - clamp it closed- and give it a day to dry. Carpenters wood glue will also work.
Whatever the brand of glue, make sure it's water soluble !!

I have one question. This is the same accordion that the other thread I made is about (the one about the dirt/mold on the bellows.)
http://www.accordionists.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3038

How come the outside of the bellows are in poor condition (moldy?), yet the inside is in much better condition? :?:

I got some new outside pictures of the bellows. The big dark spot seems to be some sort of glue type substance.

I would only suspect that sometime in the past some type of liquid was spilled on it.

Hello Mr Wanderer, I hope you're well. I have enjoyed your musical direction on diatonic, if you pick up the piano accordion equally fast then we should be entertained. (I hope you don't stop doing what you're doing now, because I enjoy the videos, but - good luck with this box...) ( I have been of no use with your question whatsoever...)

Thanks! :D

I will continue with the club box. I am simply learning the PA too. Its useful to know both, and its fun going back and forth, and taking a break from one, or the other, every other day. :)
