In recent posts Ive mentioned some of the lesser known professional accordionists who nevertheless are great players, even if theyre not famous.

In the area of the French/Belgian border near to Dunkerque (Dunkirk) there exists a group of accordionists who fit into that category.

Here is a clip of Rudi Beauprez from Houthulst in Belgium playing a composition by his friend, Yves Leynaert, from Cappelle La Grande, Dunkerque.

These guys can play the whole range of accordion styles popular in their respective countries, but naturally You Tube is not very fruitful of their efforts. So here is yet another valse musette.

It might be as well to mention that you might find two sisters named Arlette and Johanna Beauprez on You Tube. I believe they may be relatives of Rudis, as they live in the same village, and their entertainment on accordion is in an entirely different category altogether.

If youve never heard of them, here is what youre missing!

Listen to Johanna playing solo, and move up two or three divisions:-

Her bass playing particularly is pretty clever
