On a whim today, I started a custom google map of all of the accordion sale and repair places in the US and Canada that came to mind or showed up on a quick google search. Here is the link.

It is necessarily incomplete, and I would appreciate any help in adding spots that you have a website for me to check out or places that you know are active but don't have a web presence.

Further, I have included the shops of some forum members: @JIM D. , @Big Squeezy Accordions , @RomagnoliAccordions , and @Gonk. Please let me know if you would like your info removed or changed.

Thanks,
Zach

Nice! I've been thinking along the same lines.

There seem to be a few folks around who appear to have a lot of good accordions to sell, probably do their own repairs, but only advertise on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. Here are two that I've seen. I've had a good email response from the one in Franklin, but otherwise know no more than you about them.

Franklin MA: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/msg/d/franklin-accordion-salanti/7591789772.html
He currently has 6 accordions posted, some drool-worthy.

Guilderland NY: https://albany.craigslist.org/msg/d/guilderland-accordions-accordion-watch/7601585141.html
He has single photos of 23 accordions on this single post.

Good point Ed, I'd like to include such folks, and I've already added one I know, Matt Sepsey. They'll certainly be harder to track down, so it will probably be slow going in adding them.

At this point I've added more than 50 locations. Still certainly missing some in the southeast and midwest, and I can't find the Facebook/Craigslist/Youtube only folks very easily, but I think those will trickle in.

Thanks for all the input so far. I've turned off access for now while I consider a format change to the resource.

I've tried to access it to see if they are there, but it was down for the moment. Have you considered the following:

Accordeons Excellence in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
New England Accordion Connection and Museum (yes he sells and repairs too) in Canaan, MA, USA
Andersons Accordion in Burlington, Ontario, Canada?
Accordions Canada, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Tempo Trends, Victoria, BC, Canada

I'm so glad people are interested in this.

Right now I have it locked down because I think there is a fundamental flaw in having a map with exactly positioned pins in a profession where many people work out of their homes and thus don't want their address out there. So I am left with either prodding people to reveal private information on a public map, or placing pins at random in downtown areas that some unthinking person will inevitably show up at with their busted Excelsior.

My current plan is to create a spreadsheet, which is less sexy, but can easily accommodate varying levels of location specificity and shop description as well as clearly demarcate service vs sales. I haven't had the time to migrate everything over yet, and thus have not taken the old map down. It is on my to-do list.

I would edit the original post to remove the link, but that isn't an option.

So just add a caveat for people to use their noggins and CALL before coming to someone's place of business or personal home. This is definitely the case with Anderson's Accordions as well and I'd never even think of showing up without a call and setting up an advance meeting date/time.
