I recently got a pretty terrific sounding and playing mint condition, must have lived in a closet, and hardly played, Concerto iii.
As has been discussed before on this forum, concerning these models, Hohner lists serial number manufacture dates as:
1956 - 1980,
N= 81-84,
S = 85-90 (I'm not sure why 91-94 wasn't listed)
T= 1995-2000
Mine has a serial # 396257 - no letter prefix; white shifters, old style gold grill.
The sorry looking black stripe that's uglyfying the grill, is velcro I put on to hold a mic.
One other thing, the keyboard action on this box is, thankfully, a lot less boingy boingy boingy than some of the older (with the yellow/gold colored shifters) Concerto iii's I've tried, however that might be due to the fact that this one dznt seem to have been played much as opposed to Hohner using a different mechanism.
Anyway -- just wondering if anyone has any insight as to the age of this thing -- I'd like to avoid Hohner's $35.00 look-up fee if possible ----------- thanks
