I suppose like many, I download and print off tunes that I like the look of, then store them in clear plastic sleeves in ring binders for trying out at a later date.
Many of these tunes have the chord symbols in sol fa or not have any at all and often I will Tippex out the sol fa and write in the "proper" chord symbols or I will write in the chord symbols I feel are right for the ones without any.
Last night, there being nothing on tv, I got out some sheet music to change , and spent a couple of pleasant hours happily transcribing away.
It was only when I finished I realised I had forgotten to take the music sheets out of the plastic sleeves and had covered them with Tippex and ball pen :mad:.
I wondered why the ball pen wouldn't write very well. Then found it's impossible to get Tippex off the sleeves, so had to chuck them away and start again.
This senility thing is a pain:).

the kids today have these apps they can use to draw over pretty much anything
you make a picture of..

a nice 10" tablet for Christmas and a grandniece or nephew
to show you how to use it for your Sheet Music might be fun !

PS: stay safe... we hear in the news France is being overwhelmed
by the Virius...

So may I ask why you have to "download and print off tunes...."

Is it easier to download the pdf files and view it with the iPad? You don't need grand kids for that. ;)

In fact, I scanned many old and new music books (many in the Everybody's Favorite Series) to pdf. I bring the books to a local print shop, pay a few $ to trim off the sheets from the book to fit the feeder of my scanner, and scan them onto a USB stick.

With an app like forScore, I can crop, straighten, and annotate to my heart's contents.

For example, this is directly from Lucien & Richard Galliano's Complete Accordion Method:

and after cleaned up, with the fingering for PA removed and the fingering for CBA and for bass replaced with larger font - all done with forScore:

Both from screenshots taken directly from my iPad.

Tippex dissolves in (paint) thinner, so you can actually get it off the plastic sleeves. (Whether it is worth the effort is a different matter.)

That's very impressive, but I think I'm allergic to i-pads. I hate the thing. I seem to get stuck on a page and can't get out of it. Even switching off and back on again and I'm still in the same place, so I stick to my trusty laptop. Also hate i-phones and stay with my android, which probably says a lot about me.
Having said that, perhaps I should give Apple a second chance and have a look at forScore.
Give me something to do during the present lock down

(...) Also hate i-phones and stay with my android (....)
Me too ;)

Prompted by the mention of forscore I searched for Android alternatives and found this:

MobileSheets and Orpheus app look promising, anyone used them?
