Does anyone use an e reader for storing sheet music ...and if so could anyone recommend the largest I may find at an affordable price and with a decent filing system for primarily PDFs
Thanks

Our band use iPads running the "ForScore" app. Mostly 9.7" iPads from Amazon's refurb programme, which are around ยฃ100 each - which seems really good value for what you get. e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07NYS898H/

Me and our keys player also have 12.9" iPad pros, but they're disproportionately expensive - nearer ยฃ500 for refurbed and to be honest I don't like taking it to gigs in case it gets damaged or stolen. Nice for home use though.

I used to use an old cheap Samsung 9" tablet along with Mobile Sheets which works very well.
I now use a Microsoft Surface Pro- still with Mobile Sheets as it is bigger for my failing eyesight.
I currently have about 1300 tunes (and counting) loaded onto it.
It automatically collates new additions alphabetically and you can add the to as many different collections or sets asa you like.

Hey Pipe, do you gig with the Pro? Is there a good holder for like on a mic stand? Can you play all those tunes? Man, here I am trying to get 50 and you have 1300. Thatโ€™s very impressive. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Sadly I just play for my own pleasure and at the monthly local accordion club meet. I'm not good enough/confident to play gigs although I have no problems playing the pipes in front of large audiences.
Don't know of a holder. I just use a normal music stand which works fine.
If I include the pipe tunes I know, I could probably play/busk about 50 or 60 tunes from memory, but I just collect all the tunes I like.
I have them in collections of Classical, Country,Popular, Scottish 2/4,3/4,4/4, 6/8, reels and slow airs.French, Italian, Polkas and Tyrolean tunes.
As they are all in alphabetical order I can go to a Collection and call up any tune on there.
Now there is no way that I can play all of them but they are all tunes I like and can spend many hours trying different tunes.
So not impressive at all Tom, and I really admire you for playing out in public and memorising so many tunes.

Ah, I see, thanks. To be honest I do bring the sheet music as a guide, even though I have them memorized for the most part. I too have a huge binder of books of tunes Iโ€™ve collected but are not ready for prime time.
