Before I go though, if you would like to see a little bit more on accordion music of the North East of Brazil, look here. Dominguinhos plays a number of different styles on his Giuletti:

Here is a film about the accordion (or sanfona) in Brazil (it is played all over the country, in a variety of styles):

And here is a series of shorter documentaries, I think stemming from the larger documentary movie above. Theres alot, I havent got through them all yet - its interesting, many of the styles from the South of Brazil (in comparison to the sounds of the North East) sound quite familiar to my Antipodean (European) ears:

I posted this into a new thread - I havent even got to listening to it yet, the forum has hotted up this week...
Ganza mentioned how little known Brazilian music was. There is one man promoting Brazilian style accordion in England, and thats Sam Pirt who is constantly on tour with Forro music as part of his act. I heard a solo gig from him and it was brilliant, he did a lot with left hand harmony on stradella and free bass but it wasnt at all academic, it really drew you in. Anyway one of his bands is / was called Forro Porro and heres a clip: . But I dont know yet how this version from Hull compares to the Brazilian version.

I enjoyed this one Forro Porro@Musicport 2013 ( he also looks a wee bit slimmer ).

Thanks for introducing me to this style.
