Hi everyone,

Sorry it took so long, but the forum move to the new host is now (I hope) complete. There were a few difficulties in getting a clean copy of the database downloaded from the old host, which caused issues uploading it to the new host,

So... why the move?

For the last few years the forum has been hosted in a datacentre in Moscow. The hosting company have been absolutely superb, with most issues sorted within 15 minutes of me telling them of a problem. However, a couple of years ago Russia were testing out their own version of the Internet (I suppose you could call it a "Russian Intranet") to see if they could cut themselves off from the worldwide Internet. Recent rumours (such as this article - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-60661987 ) suggested they may be ready to do just that, which would mean that this forum would've disappeared.

The forum is now hosted in Manchester, UK, so I'm hoping it should now be quite safe from Adolf Putin (y)

A very knowleadgeable & intelleigent move !!!
Thank's Knobby

Thanks. That is a no brainer really as things are. Thank you for a really good friendly and helpful site. If all the politicians were squeezers we would have few difficulties. Best wishes to all.

Thank you Knobby. I used to maintain a website for a band that I was in, and this is a much much bigger site. I know it is a lot of work and it is much appreciated.

Appreciation and bellows shakes to you, Knobby! Administration is no small thing, so thank you for everything you've done and are doing to keep the forum available to all.

Vlad must have known how subversive a group of passionate Accordionistas would be.

I feel like a bit of a heel, in that I have a fair idea of how much work you put in to the move, Knobby, and its not easy... but I am finding that this provider's performance quite slow. Sometimes I am waiting up to 30 seconds for a page to load, and often it double or triple enters a single post that I type, causing me to not to want to look like a newb (lol), and delete them.

Am I alone?

That said, the slowest version of this forum is a million times better than no forum, thank-you for all that you do! :)
