Look closely at this picture, red wire. Appears the shrink tube is cutting into the red wire. I replaced this battery cable a couple times already where the red cable actually broke in that area. This is Roland actual OEM part.

I understand some make our own. I think cutting back the black cover may solve the issue. I just order these direct from Roland. But want to let others aware of this. And always have spares, no matter where you get them.

I cut back the tubing. Looks like the integrity of the wire is ok. Apply a small dab of Permatex liquid electrical tape later to cover up the bare wire.

I love to DIY when possible (and this is a very easy one to DIY). In most cases it comes out better than the original. If I was doing this I would use the harder plastic 9-volt connectors. For $7 you can get 10 of them off of Amazon and get a lifetime of replacements... lol

yes can buy bare bones molex but for less than $4.00
each with wires already attached (the 2 headed ones off Amazon)
i decided why bother

for the little plastic latching piece, if it is a prob for you, experiment
by making one from a PSupply donation, leave some extra
length on the wires, cut the latch off with small flush-cut
wire snippers and just use the extra length on the wires to
kinda squish it in to the battery compartment enough to
just hold the connector in place.. without the latch they are not loose
and they should stay connected reliably

i find some of those connector latches a pain too.. always
snipped them off Cat6 ethernet cables at least on the side
plugged into the back of a computer..

I just buy the originals. When it comes to low voltage connection, I am a believer in a tight connection. Look what happened with some of those iPhone 3rd market charging cables. Some of them overheated. Does Roland use the Molex brand on the OEM? When I was experimenting and tried to use a molex brand to connect, I felt they were a bit looser than the original. So I dumped the project.

Thank you for your input. I charge and remove batteries after every gig. Now just 3 times a week. Before 5- 6 times. Appears the red wire is a shorter radius and more wear. Like I said before there was a couple times, my accordion would not start up and the red wire was broke in the same area. If I remember correctly the replacements are not that expensive when I purchased from Roland factory. I still have a new one spare.
