I want to share this but I also want to know if anyone knows similar music because Im completely in love with it. As the title says, Eastern European/gypsy/klezmer music with a prominent accordion that involves singing and another instrument or two for back up, or even conjunction in lead. I dont really know. Youll get a pretty good idea of what Im after by listening to this. Female vocalists are a plus... :P

I think Ive listened to this at least 30 times in the past few days. Its so good.

It isnt the same, but you might like Kuunkuiskaajat, popular Finnish girl duo with accordion. Some similar musical elements, especially with the first more or less Russian style tune, less with the 2nd Klezmer style but the vocal harmonies still remind me a bit. In the clip posted above, I dont hear much gypsy, but I guess that could depend as the Roma are spread all over the world and music varies accordingly.

Two very good links ...and some delightful eye candy as well...Rom/Gypsy music definitely has something about it........my new fave is Gogol Bordello....but they may be a bit less accordion led ...although there is one in the band......

Ummm Excuse the Video....its a bit......er ......Odd.. :b :b I like it ....but then so am I {}

Oh and try Katzenjammer......
:ch

Thanks, I enjoyed both of those recommendations. Although theyre not 100% what Im after. Something a bit more klezmery/roma...

Well, again I dont see Roma music as really a category unto itself, but it seems like the most characteristic examples show up in the areas of Europe that were held for a while by the Moors and Turks. Ethnomusicologically speaking these may be more about Moorish and Turkish influence, but Roma musicians happen to play a conspicuous role there. Dont know about accordions in the flamenco etc. music from the Moorish influence, but heres something from Serbia:

Gorgol Bordello, love it.

New here. New to the accordion as well but this is the type of music that I love.

I'm a huge fan of Kaztenjammer myself. Their music is not specific to any one genre and gypsy, country, pop, folk all feature together. Love them.

Anyway, I'm looking to find other people to listen to and these links are great! So thank you!
