Hello fellow accordionists.
I'm new here. My name's Stan and I'm from Victoria in Canada. I became interested in this wonderful instrument at a young age of 11 and have been playing on and off since then. I play for fun, I'm in my fifties. As most long time enthusiasts of this instrument I've managed to end up with several accordions. Also out of interest during the years I've learned to do some repairs.
Recently I bought a used Roland Fr-7 and I found this forum while searching for Roland Fr-7 repair information.
After reading some very interesting and educational posts I decided to join.
Thank you to the Administrators for approving my request.
Happy Squeezing
Stan

Hey Stan!

I myself am from Montreal Quebec and fell in to the digital world with the recent (Nov/2016), purchase of a FR-8X. So we have a few things in common... both fans of accordions, Roland digital accordions and both in our mid-50's. We have another user here who did some very nice DIY improvements on his 7X, I am sure you will find that thread quick enough and if not, let me know and I will link you right to it.

BTW, I had a chance to visit your beautiful part of the country a couple of years ago and spent 3 months there for work reasons. Vancouver (though not super close), has some nice accordion clubs, I hear.

Anyways, WELCOME to the forum!

Hi Jerry

Thanks, there's a wealth of information in these threads. I have seen the mods to the red Roland.
Actually the midi output breakout mod is something that I might be interested in one day because my fr-7
came without the FB-7. Currently I'm a Roland newbie and have not spent much time to learn it.
Also it has come up with a problem in that it won't turn off so I had to take out the battery.
If I don't find an answer I'll post for some advice on this.
Cheers
Stan

I too am a bit of a newbie, but my talent is for learning fast and in some cases, sharing. Starting next month I start the process of making an educational series of videos for the Roland V-accordion, and since I own an 8X, that will be the focal point, but a lot of this stuff will be helpful for all V-accordion users. :)

Hello Stan,

Sorry I did not responded to your introduction earlier.

Anyway, a very warm welcome to you. I hope to read many future contributions from you, especially if you have a good sense of humour.

Kind Regards,

Stephen.
