hello, im new to the acccordions world. last year i buy, without any knowledge, a beautiful Brandoni & Son's and i felt in love with !

After one year of playing my accordion (and a ''repairman'' who butcher my bass piston with vise-grip....) i started to looking forward on repair my own. Since i really like my first accordion i decided to buy a few of other to pratice on !

I take my information mostly on this forum and the book ''Piano accordion'' by George Bachich.
If you have any other good source of information feel free to share it with me ! I want to have to most ressource possible to make a good, quality reparation. I am not interessed in any type of ''quickfix'', exept if its the last solution.

I'm very glad that i found that beautiful community on the internet, looking forward to virtualy meet you !!

Sorry for my english, im better at speaking then writting !

Welcome, I don't know anything about accordion repair. A lot of members on this forum know all about accordion repair and surely will advise you on that topic. I just wanted to say hello today. I have been playing for many years but have always been hesitant about trying to fix my accordions because they are expensive and for me it would be easy to fix one thing and break something else. Now I play a Roland Fr8x so I definitely don't want to attempt anything beyond the simplest fixes.

Good luck, if you have the talent to repair then you can learn on older instruments.

thank you! and yes i buy many accordion when i can have a good deal, i have 6 or 7 yet that are waiting for parts or that i can get the knowledge to repair it !

for now im setting my workbench in my room so i can work on them when i want.

and yes i stay with the mecanic one, i dont have the patience to work with electronic hahaha ;)

Hullo from me too.

One of the best resources on the internet for repair and maintainance seems to be - https://accordionrevival.com/

I have bought a couple of self published, and rather excessively expensive, books by a French technician of repute - Thierry Benetoux - available in French and in English translation.

There are others here who are well qualified technicians and frequently offer sound advice and in the nicest way possible.

thank you for your anwser,
in fact the book '' piano accordion'' is write by the same personne who run the website accordion revival(i've buy it there).
But i got to say that i like the fact of having a picture that i can zoom on is website!
nice to meet you all ! :)

Hey I also live in Montreal and also new into the accordion world. Just curiosity who butchered your accordion... just to avoid the place....
Where have you been shopping your repair parts? I'm looking for valves here, ready or maybe the leather piece to cut them would also work for me...
