Hi,
I'm an older (69 years) newbie to the diatonic accordian world. I was gifted a 1920-30 Hohner Presswood, 8 Bass, 21 Treble beauty about a month ago. It needs some repair but it is mostly playable. I look forward to refurbishing it into good condition and learning how to play it some, too.

If you want to do this yourself you need to look here?

Thanks for the info. I just finished watching the complete set of videos. I do want to do a minor refurbishment of my Presswood Hohner. I need to wax some of the reeds back into place (some leak and two are completely loose from the Reed block). I also have many leather valves that are curling substantially that will be replaced. Not to mention a few air leaks. I will be asking lots of questions. I am finding so much information I am almost overwhelmed.

Lester is a keen participant on melodeon.net forums. As are several other knowledgeable folk. It would be worth your while nosing around on there, they’re a pretty congenial bunch, if a bit heavily biased toward English dance music, especially Morris.
