Hello! I am new to the forum, very excited to be here! I was very kindly gifted a beautiful old accoridion. I am very much enjoying learning how to play!

I was just wondering if someone could help me figure out how old it is? And how to care for it to keep it in good condition? I would love to know more about it!

(It does say made in Italy and mod.13 on the back!)

Video" was a badge given to beginner instruments made by Crucianelli / PANcordion, on import. Though they are student grade for the time, they're well built, with good components. Yours comes from the 60’s-70’s. Basics for taking care of it, store it in its case in playing position in a cool dry place.

Accordions this old likely need some work, removing the pins and looking inside will show if some or all valves need replacing.

Another thing to consider is that this appears to possibly be a reduced sized instrument. Meaning the piano keys (and other dimensions) may be scaled down to be most appropriate to be played with smaller hands. These instruments are built to the same standards as a similarly appointed “full-size” one. Personally I can play a 41/120 bass scaled down to have a keyboard measuring about 17” before it becomes too problematic, though I prefer one with a 19” keyboard. Everybody is a little different and almost any working accordion is better than no accordion. it is just worth knowing if you end up struggling that the keyboard might not be an appropriate size.
