I recently came across an accordion and it says Hohner Baby written on it. Ive tried to look everywhere on the internet for any NFO and Hohner hasnt replied either. Its 8 Button and looks identical to the Red Hohner Minion 1, except mine says "baby" instead of Mignon. Anyone heard or seen 1 of these before, some help or nfo would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Wayne.

We know what a Mignon looks like. For me, it'll wait until you do have a picture of the actual item.

So I don't know it existed, so it could have been a special order, or done afterwards, as I believe these names are transfers. Or maybe someone here will come along who knows better.
According to what info we have (which is not comprehensive but usually accurate) the Mignon 17 keys are mid 50s ish models, placing its manufacture between 1956 - 63. These are quite sought after, either for the very young starter or as a decorative item.
What I don't know is if the alternate name will affect its value, in either direction. Does it play without issues and in tune? If so credibly advertised it could make £50 -100 ish?
I don't think there was serial# on these - but if there is you can provide the serial number to Hohner who will provide specific detail for a fee (think about €15).
There maybe 1930s models, and 1990s models but I believe this to be of 1950s.

Edited: First £ estimate was poss. optimistic. Found a really nice one went for c.£70 ... I'd have had that for a mantle piece..

Thanks for your opinion on the item. I woudnt downgrade the look of my house with an accordion on display, let alone have a house that has a mantle piece im sorry lol. Well.. Back in the Bin it goes then cause i cant play it or find anyone that wants it, but its been an interesting hunt for information atleast. Take Care, appreciate all the feedback.
