My brother has an old accordion and I would be grateful to know the age. He says its old. Any info would be gratefully received. Thank you

Based on the information provided the only thing I can conclusively determine it is at least 8 hours old and likely less than 205 years old.

If you have pictures to share we might be able to narrow that down a bit.

That’s a concertina, not an accordion.

Welcome Cas! I believe that would be called an “English Concertina,” and to me seems very old indeed, probably built before World War II. I don’t recognize the manufacturer’s name but it might mean something to someone on here….

Your may find the concertina.net forums more helpful:🤔🙂
See here 🙂
Can you make our the maker's name
"I McHen?? & Co"?🤫
Could it possibly read "Lachenal"?🤔
If so, there's something on the internet about them.🙂
It looks in very good cosmetic shape , appears to have leather bellows(?), a good case, and, possibly, may be quite valuable (?)🤔

It kinda looks like Lachenal, which would make sense. There should be a serial # on the other side. You can use this to get a rough idea when it was made.

cass66 A simple internet search suggests that your concertina may well be valuable (ie. 4 figure GB pounds.)
You need professional advice and I suggest, for a start, you post details on melodeon.net where there is lots of knowledge
on and excitement about small things with buttons.
