I used the editor about three years ago and had no problems but now i downloaded and checked everything on both my PC and Mac and get wrong results, Roland using the editor page one indicates the dropdown menu for the pc and for the mac as follows, On the pc select Roland Arranger 6.1 for both in and out, On the mac select CoreMidi4J Roland Arranger bot in and out. These are seen in the upper right in the dropdown menu on the editor. The problem is the those choices are not available. On the pc it displays Gervill 1.0 out , Microsoft midi mapp 5.0 out, Microsoft GS wavetable synth 1,0m out. and Real time sequencer version out. For OUT it displays Real time sequencer 1.0
On the Mac the display shows for out Gervill 1.0 out . Real time sequencer out, for in it displays Real time sequencer.
I have contacted Roland with no success at all!!! I have had no relative response.
If anyone has a valid copy of the software for either mac or pc I need it badly,
I have even contacted nationally known users and players or the 4x and did not find one that had used the editor(one exception to that but she said she had not used it for years)
The editor Roland has online for support does not work asit has the problem I indicated here.
I am at the end of my chain!

I discovered the problem. Everything was fine with the downloaded Java, the Roland driver and the Roland editor, Roland instructions say nothing about the reset (upper right next to the editor image) I left clicked on it a few times and then a new choice appeared in the dropdown for both IN and OUT settings The new addition was Roland Arranger 10.0 and after selecting that choice for both IN and OUT the editor started to read and download the accordion information. Roland needs to do an update to their "USING THE EDITOR INSTRUCTIONS" to include how to use the reset function and also to indicate that Roland Arranger 10.1 is the correct choice for the FR-4X accordion. They might consider a video showing the entire process including computer downloading and connecting the accordion to the computer. I think good instructions would be an extremely
fine gesture from them. Their support people were no help to me but they did respond.

I wanted to let everybody to know that I now also have my mac up and running the editor on the accordion.
The Mac is a MacBook Air (11 inch laptop early 2015) Operating system Mac OS Montery version 12.7,6
After connecting to the accordion and a couple of resets the choices in the IN and OUT dropdown change to include:
coremidi4J Roland Arranger. Select this choice and all is golden!
