This is rare on YT, fragments with (blind) bayanist Ivan Yakovlevitch Panitzki.
I have sheet music of his variations on folk tunes, beautiful accordion pieces.

(Иван Яковлевич Паницкий)

Баянист ПАНИЦКИЙ И.Я. - киножурнал г.Саратов - 1939, 1957, 1976 годы

I suppose there are more Panitzki videos to be found on the Russian social media Vkontakte etc.

Some of his sheet music of bayan arrangements can be downloaded here in the online library of bayan sheet music:
http://bayanac.narod.ru/

Always interesting to watch the old bayan playing technique from historic videos.

Fast check yielded only a few copies of the same video (of length 9:28)

Thank you! It was quite interesting to read his biography! Almost 20 years working as a teacher despite being blind... wonderful!

Curious thing - it seems he uses only one strap to hold the instrument, like playing garmon.

From what I understand, that is how the bayan was often taught and played up to the 1960s. Here is a link (in Russian) where they looked at various self-teaching books and how many straps they recommend:

yeah, it seemed that there were contradictory views on this topic. as the proponents of garmon-style say (at the referenced page) two straps make instrument cling to the body of the performer, which limits the freedom (of the right hand I suppose).

As I understand, it is ok for them to play with a single strap as long as the thumb is preventing movement of the right edge of the bayan. However Im not sure it is handy with more than 3 rows of buttons. And surely even garmon has two straps if performer prefers standing position.

Hi RodionGork and Morne,

Do you write and/or read Russian ? (I have only rudimentary knowledge of the cyrillic alphabet)
Because I am looking for a pdf copy of the 1973 (?) book by Nikolai Risol on bayan button fingerings (B-system), and I can't find it on the Russian online accordion forum.
Years ago someone in Belorussia made me a pdf copy, I even paid for it, but I didn't keep it, and now I regret it.

Because this would be interesting for the forum members who want to learn B-system CBA, and the C-system players who want to compare Risol's theory with other opinions.

It is said this book was a turning point in accordion education in Russia, with the start of thumb use in bayan playing technique, the transition from 4 finger to 5 finger use in the right hand.
There are a few other articles in Russian about bayan fingering, and maybe you or other forum members here can understand Russian.

Upon some investigation I think the author is "Nikolai Rizol", or "Mykola Rizol" (in modern Ukrainian spelling). The book in question probably is "Принципы применения пятипальцевой аппликатуры на баяне" (Principles of fingering with 5 fingers on bayan) of 1977 (?)

I could not succeed in finding int in pdf or djvu at once. Asked at goldaccordion forum... Waiting... Meanwhile, it looks like there are a number of derivative works, e.g. school books and "self-teaching" books of other authors based on this principle. If you think they may equally be worth, I think I can provide several links so you'll be able to choose...

You see, the problem is that while I understand Russian, I'm almost ignorant about bayan playing :(

Thank you very much for posting the message on the Russian accordion forum !
It is indeed Принципы применения пятипальцевой аппликатуры на баяне" (Principles of fingering with 5 fingers on bayan) from 1977.

Let's see if someone can provide a compressed file of the book. (If it is possible with copywright etc).
Even without understanding the Russian text, I remember there are schemes and lot's of fingering examples in this book that could be very useful to B-system players.

Well, as for now, there are some responses, but no result yet. Several people mentioned they have it in paper, but none feels much courage to undertake scanning (as it is of 279 pages). However, at the end, I think I can purchase a paper copy and send it to you so you can scan it :)

Meanwhile someone suggested that, probably this book is for 4-row bayan. Im trying to investigate the question deeper and find out whether there is more relevant literature, if necessary... Well, perhaps some colleagues can give more insight on this topic...
