I recently acquired a Hohner Corona III and the bass strap was just a wee bit too loose. I removed the strap and poked new holes in the strap roughly a quarter inch up. When I went to push the strap back in, I wasn’t able to get it in. My solution was to use two small ties that went through and secured the original holes. Then when I went to introduce the strap back into its hole, I pushed the ends of the ties in first and then was able to grasp the ties with pliars to pull the strap in. The photos show the ties after the ends were removed. Just a little tip for those shortening or even swapping out the bass strap.
