How old do you guys think my accordion is

old as dirt

older than most of the humans here

and if it lived in Texas most of it's life, prolly has one bellows strap
in the grave already, but might could still make some nice noise
if you are gentle with her

I'd say very late 1930s, or possibly 1940s. I understand that there's people out there with a lot more experience when it comes to dating Hohners, but to me that looks very much like one of the later pre-war - or maybe very early post-war - boxes. The couplers say 1940s to me, but I don't know whether Hohner were producing accordions during the war.

I believe Hohner was producing in WWII - but there might have been a bit of an image problem!
(Didn't they do some rebranding and a bit of Made in Switzerland?)

Something worth mentioning: Hohner will sell you a certificate with the original date and price, but you have to find the serial number and pay them something like 25 euros.

Here is how it looked in times of yore (I think it may have been €10 per instrument or so, the first entry has been corrected by me after I sent the correct serial number by Email to Ralf Tritschler and got back the info by Email).

Incidentally, all of those would be for sale...
