Hello,I’m new to the world of Accordion,I’ve started off with a wee black toy accordion and I have problems with the 3+ 3+ 3+ and 3- 3- 3- also I’m planning on getting a big accordion but I’m not sure if I should pratice on my teeny black toy accordion more to get a hang of using the bellows and using my fingers to press on the buttons. Do you have any advices or tips?

Welcome to the forum.

There may be some value in practicing with your toy accordion, at least until you are able to purchase something more appropriate.

Others may hold a different opinion, but I would suggest that you buy a mid-size accordion to start off with. A full-size accordion may be a little too much for a complete beginner. Many recommend the 72 Bass to start with, which would also be my recommendation.

It would be helpful if you told us what kind of music you wish to play, as this will assist others to tailor their advice more specifically.

@Stephen Thank you, I prefer Button Accordion. (diatonic) Hohner Diatonic button accordion is a accordion when I am starting to get a hang of using bellows and using my fingers?

I am not a professional accordionist, but I do play a lot in public. My instruments are all PA's, and I know next to nothing about button boxes.

As for bellows operation (which is common to both button & PA'S) I can assure you that you will get better with practice.

The anthem of the USSR is not on my playlist. If your current accordion is (as you describe it) a "toy", then you are going to run out of useable notes very quickly.

I respectfully suggest that you stick to very simple tunes for the present, progressing to more complicated stuff when you have an accordion with the capacity to play more complex tunes.
