Interesting presentation

It is unfortunate that converter accordions are so expensive and rare to find in North America. Mostly, only requested by hard core musicians.

Very inconvenient to try it if you are a beginner, unlike a 61 keys digital piano that you can buy for around 150$.

I am always bothered that they often direct the origins to the accordion to south east Asia, as if we are supposed to not acknowledge its creation to European craftsmen.

Very annoying, otherwise, nice video.

First define "they", look into their intentions, and then broaden your own reading.
I'm a relative 'newby' to the scene, but even I have read the bit about the Austrian and Italian inventors and developers of the bellows supplied free-reed wind nstruments.
And, the "accordion" as we know it is but one of many variations on a theme, so to speak.
The very complexity of the accordion et al and several other instruments of similar technology as well as the requirement for large amounts of human input in tuning, voicing and general maintainance makes any comparison with low end digital pianos a false concept.

This video goes some way to explaining the reason:

and this one might help in chosing your instrument:

u-tube has many, many other informative videos to choose from.

People who make this kind of videos on youtube. They almost act apologetic, which is bothersome. Some like Dr. Helmi Harrington might be a good exception to this trend.

An accordion is literally like a car in complexity and selling nature. It takes a lot of work to assemble, very expensive new, and you can spend a fortune fixing one that isn't working properly.
