Played on 2 accordions, each on the master setting of LMMM. I tried to play exactly the same notes throughout for a simple comparison. Which do you prefer, old ( -23 cents, 0, +26 cents ) or modern ( -5 cents, 0, +16 cents ) both at 440 Hz?

I prefer the first one, brighter.

Hmmm, I like them both, although I tend to gravitate toward the sound of an older accordion in general. I would choose the modern for the formal holiday concert, and the old-timey one for the outdoor Christmas folk fest.

Another vote for the first one. And thanks for the reminder: I downloaded the sheet music for a version of this recently, but still have to try it on my box. Next accordion goal! Cheers.
