You must know what quality is, before playing music yourself. Ivan Rebroff is one of them. Although he was a German Yodeler before, he started Russian songs which he did like no one in the world. He is number two in voice capacity (he sings at every singers voice register) after Yma Sumac of U.S.A. (Peru in origin).

You are so right - Rebroff was great! In the 70’s my San Francisco based Russian balalaika group “The Troika Balalaikas” performed with the great Nicoli Massenkoff, a Russian baritone singer with the same range. We toured extensively and even met Rebroff at one of his concerts in Florida.

Well, I never !
He certainly had me fooled : I had him down as a bona fida Russian !😄
Great voice! Great selection of repertoire !❤️
The Russians should make him a national treasure!🙂

He later settled in U.S.A.

Great singing and music " Midnight in Moscow"
was a hit I think in the 60's played by Kenny Ball and his Jazz men in the UK and was in the top ten hit parade.
