Its this band that shouldve won the Eurovision in 2010. Bah. I think this ones better than their Eurovision song, its simple and fun. I just dont go for that virtuoso stuff... Well, yet.

A jolly tune and a good looking accordion.
White suits her....:)

Im all for white accordions when presented with finesse like here --- ----JIM D.

:b

got everyone clapping - so that's a good sign

what's the song about - something jolly i guess :?:

Smdc, quite so, it's about marrying off a daughter. As for the song Donn posted, which is a good one too, it's roughly about moving on and not looking back.

cool....nice looking instruments ........... {} {}

That tune has been on my to learn list for awhile. I do like polskas. Theres a youtube video of another player having a go at it and its basically identical, so there should be an authoritative sheet for it out there somewhere. Maybe this: http://musescore.com/user/21352/scores/49139 . I just cant make heads or tails of those 2 rows.

re The wedding polska: she's smiling! That's not proper melodeon face, she looks like she enjoys herself. Lovely playing, though, and a very lovely tune. Thanks, Donn, and thanks for the sheet music, mjh! I'll see if I can get some of the other local No.1 Ladies to play that in parts with me...

Anyanka, I'd be interested in hearing what it sounds like on a chromatic. Do consider posting a recording of it if you get the others to join in.

My take is a little different in details, and of course the meter. At this point I cant really account for the meter - I wrote it out first in cut time, and judging by the name thats probably closer.

Thanks for posting Donn. There seems to be someones transcription at http://archive.folx.org/node/2614 that looks a bit similar to yours. Im almost illiterate when it comes to sheet music, but with all the notes posted for this tune youre bound to have the right ones :)

It's in 3/4! Very gratifying to see someone else who probably knows this stuff much better than I, wrote it down so much like mine. This one writes out the "ornaments" in the beginning of the B part, which I omitted out of sloth. I on the other hand went for extra credit with the chords.
