My gig

Congrats Murathan, looking good!

Thank you Tom. Art exhibitions are long play (45-60 minutes no break) but the ambiance and people are satisfying :giggle:
Nice. Do you do a lot of art openings? The paintings looked kind of abstract and geometric.

I ve done a lot before the Pandemic. I mainly focused on lessons in these years. I think exhibition openings are the best suit to accordion music. I dont do free but not a big fee. I see a change in these days. Maybe I get back to making music again. These artworks are Japanese style. The artwork creates itself in a natural way.

I haven’t thought of pursuing art opening gigs, but it could be fun. Lots of art around here.

Neat job ....it's an art to create ambience and keep it cool on such a gig...... avoiding the temptation to let rip is always a danger ...
Fine line to play gently, smoothly and unobtrusively so people don't even notice your there until you stop.....and the spell is broken and something is realised missing...
My favourite scenario to play in.....

I've done art shows and also front-lobby azmopheric color for openings of plays and things like that. A vampire play was the best one, the Eastern European and tango accordion stuff is great for that. I love those types of gigs. People respond really well, especially if you dress the part at least a bit.

Have you seen any of the Japanese anime/manga movies... especially by Miyazaki (excuse my spelling) but some of his themes are beautiful on accordion ...
Howls Moving Castle springs immediately to mind.....

I have an interest on Japanese paintings (Ukiyo-e, woodblock stamps) but not manga/anime.
