Go to a drugstore. Find a match. Start building up coats. Sand with 600 paper and rubbing compound. Here is the start of a repair, with just one coat. Will need at least 4 or 5. Buy the cheapest nail polish you can find.
I add acetone and old clean celluloid to give the polish more bulk. Some of the black nail polish is grey when seen next to a accordion, so you will need to make your own with old celluloid. Give about 12 hrs between coats to avoid getting bubbles that will mess you up when you sand.
