Hello, recently got an accordion, I know the make is Sonola R. 342 but the problem is this :
All the images I can find of this model are either - complete black case accordion, or a complete white (Mother of pearl) case accordion. My accordion is both. Mother of pearl and black casing, I'm unsure whether it's been tampered with to be both. I cannot find any images of my accordion on the internet. I'll attach some photos to this post and hope you guys know. Thank, you all ❤. PXL_20240313_172150553.jpg

That's a great looking accordion.
Sorry, I cannot provide and detailed information regarding the authenticity and / or original manufacture, but
I'm sure some one on this forum will.
Enjoy your new Sonola friend.

To me it looks a genuine Italian made late 1960s two-voiced (LM) introductory Sonola. So, likely in the smaller size (17 inch keyboard?🤔).
It should prove to be well made and reliable 🙂
I have two similar in three voices (LMM and LMH)

Thank you very much! It being made in the 1960's make sense as we believe it was imported to London in 1970's , the shop it was from closed down throughout that decade. But I'm glad to have some new info on the accordion. Thanks again!

Accordions that are a combination of black and white (and not just the keyboard) were quite common in the 60's and 70's.
Here is a picture of my late sister's Crucianelli from around 1970, which is in its original color (black and white), except for the bellows tape I replaced.
