I took lessons for 10 years in Seattle starting at age 8 -- then did not touch an accordion for 50 years! Work and family obligations kept me busy. Out of curiosity, I replied to a local ad about a storage locker find of a Soprani Recanati accordion with a bass machine problem. I was only going to volunteer assistance but ended up making him an offer which he accepted. The bass machine was tangled like it had been shipped without constraints so multiple buttons were locked down. You can imagine what that sounded like if you applied some bellows! My wife was skeptical of my purchase but back home it only took 20 minutes of disassembly and gentle persuasion to make it playable again.
One thing led to another and now I am studying with the King of Reno, Corky Brumble who was a keyboardist with Dick Contino. I would love to make contact with others in the area who would like to jam.
