Lyrics:
Noianeitsi

Seal kus laine tasakesi
kohab rannal rahuta,
ja kuuvalgus igavesti
paistab öösel üle maa,
seal, kus roosipõõsa vilus
laisalt puhkab mustlane,
nõianeitsi noor ja ilus,
kingiks sain talt sõrmuse

"Võta," ütles, suud mull' andes,
armas kallis peiuke,
seda armupanti kandes
saad sa suure võimuse.
Vara, rikkust ta ei anna,
au ei kuulsat nime ka,
läbi laine sind ei kanna,
sõjas sind ei kaitse ta.

Ei ta anna sulle võitu,
kui sind piirab vaenlane,
ega tee ta sulle sõitu
külmast põhjast lõunasse.
Aga kui kord kurvalt tunned,
et sa oled üksinda,
siis sind kavaluse sunnil
suudleb neiu armuga.

Translation:

The Hunter Witch

Where the wave is gently meets restless on the beach,
And moonlight forever shines over the land at night,
Where the rosebush squirmed,
A gypsy rests lazily, The Hunter Witch,
Young and beautiful,
I got a ring from him as a gift
"Take," he said, mouthing a bubble,
Sweet darling,
Wearing this love bond
You get great power
Property, wealth it does not give,
Nor honor, no famous name either,
You will not be carried by the wave,
It will not protect you in war
It will not give you victory,
When you are besieged by the enemy,
Nor will it give you a ride from the cold
North to the south.
But when you feel sad,
That you are alone
Then it will show its magic
Kisses the girl with grace.

There are 2 versions of this song. First one is to take as A minor which I ve written and shown. Second one is modal approach which both of them are suitable. You take E's as G in bass only. Melody can stay the same. Here is a wonderful modal version. Some players play both approaches instead of exact repeat.

Cool tune, thanks Murathan!

Interesting! Reminds me of Korobeinki. In fact, the part of the melody at the end of each section is nearly identical:

Form is also identical !! 2 (musical) periods makes a structure (song ''Lied'' form), firsts first and seconds first part is different, firsts second and seconds second are the same.

I have seen noianeitsi translated as "the witches' daughter ".
Here's a dance to the tune:

I saw they translated as " The Witch" only in Polish forum. Google translate shows different combinations before and today. We need an Estonian to make it clear.

Here it is, played on a popular Estonian folk instrument.🙂

Hunter witch goes the best from lyrics because he is not a witch hunter. He dwells in a hunting land (far place) and appears to give a ring to a girl. Not a typical action for a witch hunter I thought... Thats the modal approach. I think Scandinavian people also wants to suit to European classical styles (the bass part is changeable anyways) rather than harsh sounded modal styles (to many ear) so they use both approaches.

That Hunter Witch also isnt a witch with so much magical powers:
