Hi.

I've been interested in accordion for about a decade now. I've never been able to decide what kind I wanted to play until recently due to it's range and honestly, the aethetics of it, the CBA with free bass.

But I love all squeezy things, like bandoneons and convertinas too.

I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere, population 100 mountain town, and the closest city I live close too is Redding, which is not known for it's music scene, haha. There might be someone in the area though and that would be great!

Other than that, I'm in my late 30's, IT guy for 20 years, and glad to be here.

It is starting to look like a recurring theme that those of us with a bit of a techy mindset are drawn more to the buttons than the piano keys.

I rather enjoyed Redding the one time I was there for a conference. But I enjoyed the field trip to Lassen more!

Haha, that's an interesting observation. For me it was an initial aesthetic reaction, then I foudn that that is what a lot of classical players use, so it worked out :)

So what instrument(s) did you finally get in your village of 100 people?

Yes - me too - but I never did the CS degree, so I was OK with stradella bass.

Nice.
Look forward to your impressions of the Jupiter (and of course a couple of photos).
