I like the channel. I think the individual is in a rush to record one song per day as part of his "100 day challenge" so the Palmer Hughes materials (course & recital books) aren't always played note for note.

But great stuff regardless, his learning insights included.

Great response Jerry!
There is a lot of learn-quick talk on the internet. You too can learn to play the piano in two hours! That’s not learning-that’s playing or more accurately pounding and it’s a waste of time.
I know of a clarinetist who took the same approach and tried to do the most advanced studies one a day.
She then invied her friends over for a recital and as soon as she started to play she realized she was making a fool of herself.

When we’re older of course we all dream of playing as great as the greatest-but that’s not what music nor learning an instrument is about. It takes years and sometimes decades to reach a level of proficiency-daily practise. It’s not always fun unless you learn to make it fun. I was studying with a top player and I said-this routine -scales,hanon,etc.is sometimes so boring. His response was-sometimes it’s boring for me too,but I still have to do it.

If you enjoy following these people then great for you. But I don’t think it’s a serious approach to learning to be even a competent musician. Memorizing how to press keys is not learning how to play an instrument.

I don’t give 3 sheets if I ever get as good as fill in the blank. I play as much as I want whenever and whatever I want and nobody has ever thrown tomatoes at me. Ok, I would like to get half as good as Jerry. 🙃🗿🪗🎵☕️. Just kidding!

It’s a good attitude Tom,it would be great to get to the point in life where what is here today is the best we can/should have. Not always easy but helpful to be reminded of this.
