Paolo Soprani - help!

Can anyone give me an idea of how I can find out more about this accordion? Obviously I know it’s

1) paolo soprani
2) anniversary model
3) 120 bass

The reason I am asking is that I have not been able to find any other like this online to compare with. It has four tone and volume dials on the front and I feel this is a very rare / unique piece. While several dealers have given me a good amount of money for it. They seem to be very eager to purchase. I’m want to know more about it, as I would rather just save something if it is rare or collectible.

Anyone who knows anything would likely not comment on value until first having a look inside. As they say, it’s like pricing a used car without ever taking a look under the hood.

There is not much of a market for “collectible” non-functional accordions. Accordions are really only valued by players who want to play them. One bit to keep in mind is that the Paolo Soprani company has changed hands quite a few times over the years. During some of those changes, the quality and reputation of the company and its products was more-or-less maintained, while during others the results were (arguably) less fortunate. Some historians on this forum will probably know the dates and details with more certainty, but unfortunately I think that the 1980s may be among the lowest points in Paolo Soprani’s long history; if true, the chances of finding a rare gem in a Paolo built during that time period is not likely.

Still, if you are interested in learning to play and this accordion is in good condition at a good price, this could be an ideal opportunity. You could do far worse than buying a 40 year old Paolo Soprani to start with (and indeed I have!)

Question; are you trying to sell the accordion, or trying to purchase it ?
"From the picture" the accordion cosmetically looks great, but as noted in the above comment---it's what is going on inside that really counts.
Hopefully some of the "experts" here on the forum can provide some insight as to what it is, and what you may be looking at.
