I'm starting a job soon that pays considerably more than my last. I know I could pick up a nice Weltmiester for much less but I really want a freebass. Does anyone know if the Peter Pan is made of plastic like the Pigini Simba? I know on the piano version of the Peter Pan that the keys are less wide and the treble has a only a single voice. I did read somewhere that all modern Pigini accordions come with Artigiana Voci reeds. Another option I was looking at is the chromatic Bugari Nano but I've never played a CBA and I'm a little worried about switching between CBA and PA interchangeably.

If you look on youtube Liberty Bellows has a demonstration video for a Ottavianelli with custom Arabic tuning that's different from what I have used before, this model having a single voice it won't be as much of a hassle to modify it myself.

The construction looks pretty similar to the button Peter Pan which is made out of flimsy plastic that breaks easily (especially around the shoulder strap lugs and the bass strap. A sign of its weakness that you can see in the picture is that it has 4 bellow pins in the front, which is excessive for such a small accordion with a wooden construction. (Only large heavy accordions have 4 pins on each side of the treble case, and even my very heavy Morino only has 3 (on the treble side).

I'd agree with Paul, avoid plastic bodies. The next model up with traditional construction in the Pigini and Bugari ranges are where I'd start. Just make sure the bass goes down to C (two octaves below middle C) as an absolute minimum range because you'll find yourself needing another accordion after a few months otherwise on your FB journey.

If you go to the Pigini page on this accordion, there is a "request more info" section on the bottom right side... why not ask the manufacturer directly?
