I am 6 feets height and play 120 bass accordion only with sitting and accordion on my leg.

I recently got a second hand 96 bass accordion from a children player. I loose the strap of the 96 bass to longest but it still can't reach my leg.

I usually see musician playing small accordion standing. I am not sure the pose to play small accordion when sitting, should the accordion on leg?

I play my smaller accordion standing. If I play it sitting, the strap is not long enough for it to sit on my leg. I have to make the strap longer.

In your case, if you want a long enough strap to play sitting, you will have to buy a longer strap. Good luck!

I have a tiny Hohner FB36 (last time playing it was yesterday!), it may be made for children, but I removed the straps and installed Neotech straps that are long enough that it sits flush on my leg when sitting. I then use the same technique of how set the strap length so the accordion sits to control the bellows properly without placing it’s very light weight on my shoulders unless I want it to for control purposes.

This is the only accordion that I would ever consider using Neotech straps on as it is so light, all my other accordions use full size leather straps.

A 96 bass accordion (not anything smaller) may still fit wel when sitting down if you raise your left leg. I use a block of wood for that, but you could also use something that guitar players use to raise their leg.

Chair height will mostly decide that. When using my downstairs chair, I use nothing and am comfortable. When using my dining room chairs, even with my Morino, I need/use a 3”X3’X12” block of wood that is covered with material under my left foot and works perfectly.

Indeed, chair height is an important factor too. But on a chair where I can comfortably use my bayan, Morino or bass accordion I do need the block of wood when playing the Bugari 540 (which is about 40cm tall versus 46- 50cm for the other accordions. (So raising my leg by about 3" does the trick.
When playing on lower chairs (like the ones found in just about every conference room) I need to use a fairly stiff pillow to feel comfortable.
