Does anybody else name their instruments? I have Ramona (my guitar), Luna (my bass guitar) and i haven't come up with a name for my accordion yet. Was just curious anyway :)

My big Bugari is known as " the wardrobe " but that doesn't have quite the same ring to it...

Yes,but only Hurdy Gurdies for some reason. We have had 'Rosie' (still have), 'Esme', 'Florrie' (still have), 'Gigi' (guess the unison chanter tuning !) and 'Roxie' and all had some association mainly too lengthy to explain here.

Oddly enough the various boxes and Fiddles escaped such nonsense over the years. Strange.

It is strange! I haven't named all my instruments just ones i bought myself

In the past I've called my instrument -- My "Main Squeeze" -- and My "Stomach Steinway".

A melodeon-playing friend of mine gives all her (many) boxes girls' names, e.g. Peggy, Lily etc. Mine just go under nicknames derived from their make or model, i.e. the Pigini is The Pidge, and the Hohner Amati contracts lazily to Maati. Similar with my car, the Blingo (Citroen Berlingo).

I just think all instruments have character and personality so i name them

Funny but it seems when I put a name to one of my toys it's always the ones I love, I need or I hate.

I used to have Elka and Paulo swapped Paulo for a Guerrini and still have Elka,Guerrini could be grunt as it weighs 28lbs!!!!!
