RIP Nick Ballarini. You were a great musician and a real mensch. You introduced me to the Petosa that I now play almost exclusively. You will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear this news. A couple of years ago, Nick and his son met me about halfway between Dallas and San Antonio with a vehicle full of accordions for me to try, and I ended up purchasing my Princetti Magna from him that day. In between accordions, Nick had a story or two to share of getting to play with Dick Contino, etc.

He was also very generous in sharing with this novice accordionist a 632-page PDF containing basic sheet music for well over 700 songs. If I ever learn 10% of what's in that book, I'll be able to play for hours!

My condolences to the family.

That's the worst thing about being an accordionist. There aren't many of us to start with, and I know, or know of, almost all of the older mentors. I had previously corresponded with Nick regarding a Victoria accordion some years back. All interactions I had heard of with him were positive. I'm really sorry to hear this news.
